Dekalb Trailblazers takes COVID-19 very seriously. We have put in place several preventive measures. Please talk with your athlete about these precautions and stress their importance for each practice. We ask you to follow these precautions as well.
Here is what you can expect:
We will follow the latest guidance from CDC on COVID-19 for what to do if your child has had close contact with someone who has COVID-19 or if they have contracted COVID-19. Please contact us if either situation occurs. We will not share names, but we will let others know if they have been exposed.
This is the current guidance we will follow:
If your child has had close contact with someone with COVID-19, please have your child stay home from practice or meets for 14 days after the last exposure.
If your child contracts COVID-19 and had symptoms, they can return to practice after:
Here is what you can expect:
- Small groups
- We have limited the number of registrants.
- We will warm-up as a larger group (with social distancing) and then split into 2 or 3 smaller groups for runs.
- Health checks
- We will use TeamSnap’s health check feature. Click on schedule and then the date of the practice. A Health Check for your athlete will open the morning of the practice.
- Please complete the 4 or 5 questions before your athlete arrives at practice. We will try to make sure everyone has cleared before practice begins.
- IMPORTANT: If your athlete is not feeling well, please do not come to practice.
- Masks during warm-ups /cool-downs: Everyone is asked to use a mask during warm-ups/cool-downs.
- Social distancing: Everyone is asked to give each other space during warm-ups/cool-downs.
- Hand sanitizer will be available to use before eating or handing out popsicles.

- 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared, AND
- 24 hours with no fever without the use of fever-reducing medications, AND
- Other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving.
